Ultimate Love: Rosie, Kachi’s Affairs in Comatose Before Wedding

THE winners of the Ultimate Love reality show Season 1, Rosemary ‘Rosie’ Afuwape and ‘Kachi’ Ucheagwu have allegedly parted ways. The couple’s affair gone comatosed before their traditional wedding to be bankrolled by Multichoice with the sum of N10 million. Can you still remember them?

Rosie and Kachi, being the first couple to win the show, were rewarded with the sum of N5m on March 29,  2019 as the show came to an end.

‘Rosie’ accused her engaged man, Kachi of ending the relationship saying he had started announcing to people that the wedding was off even before she approached MultiChoice.

“He has changed and that is why I took my stand based on such change,” she said.

She continued, “All I did was to help him make it official. He has shown me the way he loves me and I am grateful but I won’t and no longer would like to be treated in such a manner, let him go and treat whichever lady like that, more than that''

“Kachi has spoilt my name publicly, how can someone you love do that to you? And that is just out of many things I had to endure. I need a real man to love me genuinely, more than that is not just even about me but Jeremy. I cannot make my son go through half of what I have gone through, naaaa.

“In this life, I have been through a lot to continue going through what I went through would mean I don’t love myself or my son to give him someone that would be a great model to him and not one that is flippant at every slight provocation, behaving like a woman and wants to show me he is a man in a wrong way.

“It is out of respect I decline and step out for another to step in and be with him and give him all that he wants and more but as for me, naaa, Kachi is too good for me, I don’t deserve him, I pray he gets one that would dance to every one of his tunes, love, and demands.”

On his part, Kachi, took to Twitter to seek prayer after revealing that he is battling depression. “Please pray for me, I’ve been battling depression for a while…,” he announced. His Twitter handle still reads engaged to Rosie.

This unfortunate news has left the #RokNation wondering what the matter could be. Many are are advising them to mend fences and come together. But it's unfortunate that the issue is getting worse because of seemingly pride from the couple. No relationship or marriage is perfect. Understanding is the only way out.  From the excuses given on their Twitter handles  it's a common misunderstanding that can be resolved and should be resolved without much delay. Well meaning friends and family members are encouraged to rescue the relationship from total collapse.

Wishing them a speedy reconciliation.

The question still remains why do many celebrities relationships always crashed? Let's know your views on this important and reoccurring issue.

WTO:US Back Korean for Fear of China

Dr Okonjo-Iweala polled 163 votes out of 164 member countries on Wednesday, 28 October 2020 to edge out her only opponent,  South Korea’s trade minister at the final stage of the race. When sworn in, she would be the first African and the first female to attain the position of DG of coveted WTO. She was supported by countries in Africa, Austrialia, Caribbean, China, European Union and Japan.

However, the United States has thrown its support for South Korea’s Yoo Myung-Hee as the next head of World Trade Organisation (WTO). The Office of the US Trade Representative, in a statement, on  Wednesday, said WTO must be led by someone with real, hands-on experience in the field and Minister Yoo has distinguished herself during a 25-year career as a successful trade negotiator. “The United States supports the selection of Korean Trade Minister Yoo Myung-hee as the next WTO Director-General.  Minister Yoo is a bona fide trade expert who has distinguished herself during a 25-year career as a successful trade negotiator and trade policymaker.  She has all the skills necessary to be an effective leader of the organisation. “This is a very difficult time for the WTO and international trade. There have been no multilateral tariff negotiations in 25 years, the dispute settlement system has gotten out of control, and too few members fulfil basic transparency obligations.  The WTO is badly in need of major reform.  It must be led by someone with real, hands-on experience in the field,” the statement read.

The fact remains that America is afraid of China soaring dominance! Is America more than the other 163 members? The other member nations have spoken in a clear terms who they wanted having considered their profiles. Traditionally, the WTO chooses its director general by consensus, with all 164 members having to approve a candidate. The US has been unhappy with the way the WTO has operated for some time now, vehemently objecting to China’s designation as a developing country and blocking the appointment of new judges to the organisation’s appeals body.

David Walker, the Chair of the General Council, said “She clearly carried the largest support by Members in the final round and she clearly enjoyed broad support from Members from all levels of development and all geographic regions and has done so throughout the process.” Now how can US unilaterally stall what 163 members supported?

“It is not hard to see that the US action fits Trump’s ideology of favouring bilateral trade deals over the multi-lateral system embodied by the WTO,” Meenal Shrivastava,  a professor of political economy at the University of Athabasca in Canada, said.

A WTO spokesman said her candidacy would be put to a meeting of the body’s governing general council on 9 November, adding that there was likely to be “frenzied activity” in the meantime to secure consensus. More so, the outcome of the US election where VP Joe Biden is expected to win will bring a twist to the brouhaha.

A spokesperson for Okonjo-Iweala said: “Dr Ngozi is immensely humbled to receive the backing of the WTO’s selection committee today.  “Dr Ngozi looks forward to the general council on 9 November when the committee will recommend her appointment as director-general. A swift conclusion to the process will allow members to begin work together, on the urgent challenges and priorities.”

WTO: DR NGOZI OKONJO IWEALA WILL BE SWORN IN LIKE DR AKINWUMI ADESINA

The WTO is run by its member governments. All major decisions are made by the membership as a whole,” the WTO website reads. “In this respect, the WTO is different from some other international organizations such as the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.

The United States under Donald Trump showed open dislike for Nigeria during the re-election bid of Nigerian Dr Akinwumi Adesina of African Development Bank but made it despite American refusal to support his candidacy.

The World Trade Organization’s effort to name a new leader hit a seemingly rock when Trump administration said it won’t back the appointment of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to be the WTO’s next director-general despite wide support for Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria’s candidate for the director-general of the WTO, the US has expressed its opposition to her emergence.

Dr Okonjo-Iweala emerged winner of the race with support from 104 of all 164 member countries of the WTO. Those countries include many in Africa and the European Union, where she had received public support. Despite being an American citizen, sources say the US does not consider Okonjo-Iweala as being committed enough to the interests of the world power at the flagship trade body.

Bloomberg had initially reported that the US was leaning towards Yoo Myung-hee, the South Korean candidate. Bryce Baschuk, Bloomberg’s WTO reporter, also tweeted on Wednesday that the US is opposed to Okonjo-Iweala’s emergence and the road forward remains “unclear”.

The heads of delegation of the WTO met yesterday by 3pm but yet to made known the outcome of their meeting. Unlike the World Bank where the US has a larger voting power than other countries, the WTO is run differently, by the consensus of every member country. America is not greater than the 164 countries that have voted.

“Where consensus is not possible, the WTO agreement allows for voting — a vote being won with a majority of the votes cast and on the basis of ‘one country, one vote’.”

10 Top Secrets To Boost Your Facebook Reach

It's not a news that Facebook have 2.7 Billion active users monthly worldwide. Same Facebook owns Instagram and WhatsApp. Hardly will anyone do without any of these 3 Social Media including your friends, family and customers - including potential ones.

Here are top secrets to maximize your Facebook profile and pages for business growth:

1. Unfriend all your inactive friends! Why having 5000 friends with just 30 likes maximum to most of your posts? Facebook's organic reach algorithm favors those who get more engagement from their friends and followers. If you’re very serious, I would say unfriend inactive friends to create space for potentiial clients as friends.

2.  Join Active Facebook groups related to your niche or business. Join in building it from scratch or be very active in an existing one with not just likes but encouraging comments and don't be selfish with only your so called business adverts.

3.  Whenever you want to post or advertise your business, post a high-quality epic content in your targeted groups. One good post in the group could bring you a lot of attention🔥. Add those who like and comment on your post. You’ll also get many friend requests from this strategy alone.

4.  ❌Don’t send so many friend requests, 20-40 will be good per day. When requesting, ensure you target your potential customers or people in the same business with you that you can gain from.

5.  Always go to your newsfeed and engage for 15-20 minutes a day on all the posts you see. React with heart❤️️ /care/haha😂 or wow😯 not likes👍. Give a meaningful comment not just “super” or “awesome”. If you appreciate others, you will get same back. Celebrate your customers wherever they are celebrating anything.

6.  Post your content on your profile. If you want to use bold, italics, and more crazy looking fonts on our post, do it to be attractive.

7.  After posting your content, go back to your newsfeed and press refresh button so that you can see some new posts.

8. As business oriented person, send a personal message to all your new friends. E.g “Hey (name) great to be connecting here. How’re things with you, in your world?” etc. Most of them will reply and try to reply to them too. This alone will increase your post reach to the next level. But don’t try to sell them anything immediately.

9.  At this Growing stage, you should be having many people commenting on your posts. Always reply to all the comments.

10. Don’t post more than 2 posts per day on your profile. Engagement actually decreases when you post too often.

I will rap up with this advice. Always post high-quality content. Engage your audience with humor, inspirational and educational content. Don't be too desperate with business post always.

If you implement the strategies these strategies, you’ll be well on your way to improving your organic reach.

To your success!

30 Anger Management Tips

Anger is a normal and even healthy emotion. However, anger can become problematic if it leads to aggression, outbursts or physical altercations. It's important to deal with it in a positive way when getting out of hands. Uncontrolled anger can be destructive, take a toll on both your health and damage your relationships with friends and colleagues. It can even deny you of reaching your goals in life if not kept in check. Keeping your temper in check can be challenging. Use simple anger management tips — from taking a timeout to using "I" statements — to stay in control.

Do you fume when someone cuts you off in traffic? Does your blood pressure rocket when your child, wife or friends refuse to cooperate?

Are you ready to get your anger under control? Start by considering these 30 anger management tips.

1. Think before you speak

In the heat of the moment, it's easy to say something you'll later regret. Take a few moments to collect your thoughts before saying anything — and allow others involved in the situation to do the same.

2. Once you're calm, express your anger

As soon as you're thinking clearly, express your frustration in an assertive but non-confrontational way. State your concerns and needs clearly and directly, without hurting others or trying to control them.

3. Get some exercise

Physical activity can help reduce stress that can cause you to become angry. If you feel your anger escalating, go for a brisk walk or run, or spend some time doing other enjoyable physical activities.

4. Take a timeout

Timeouts aren't just for kids. Give yourself short breaks during times of the day that tend to be stressful. A few moments of quiet time might help you feel better prepared to handle what's ahead without getting irritated or angry.

5. Identify possible solutions

Instead of focusing on what made you mad, work on resolving the issue at hand. Does your child's messy room drive you crazy? Close the door. Is your partner late for dinner every night? Schedule meals later in the evening — or agree to eat on your own a few times a week. Remind yourself that anger won't fix anything and might only make it worse.

6. Stick with 'I' statements

To avoid criticizing or placing blame — which might only increase tension — use "I" statements to describe the problem. Be respectful and specific. For example, say, "I'm upset that you left the table without offering to help with the dishes" instead of "You never do any housework."

7. Don't hold a grudge

Forgiveness is a powerful tool. If you allow anger and other negative feelings to crowd out positive feelings, you might find yourself swallowed up by your own bitterness or sense of injustice. But if you can forgive someone who angered you, you might both learn from the situation and strengthen your relationship.

8. Use humor to release tension

Lightening up can help diffuse tension. Use humor to help you face what's making you angry and, possibly, any unrealistic expectations you have for how things should go. Avoid sarcasm, though — it can hurt feelings and make things worse.

9. Practice relaxation skills

When your temper flares, put relaxation skills to work. Practice deep-breathing exercises, imagine a relaxing scene, or repeat a calming word or phrase, such as "Take it easy." You might also listen to music, write in a journal or do a few yoga poses — whatever it takes to encourage relaxation.

10. Walk Away

When you can't control your anger, try to walk away form the scene, home or wherever you are. it is the best option that will save you a lot of problems. Then, come back later.

Others are:

11. Take a Deep Breath

12. Relax your muscles

13. Repeat a mantra

14. Mentally escape

15. Play some tunes

16. Stop talking

17. Take a timeout

18. Take action

19. Write in your journal

20. Rehearse your response

21. Picture a stop sign

22. Change your routine

23. Talk to a friend

24. Laugh

25. Practice gratitude

26. Set a timer

27. Imagine forgiving them

28. Practice empathy

29. Express your anger Gently

30. Know when to seek help

Learning to control anger is a challenge for everyone at times. Seek help for anger issues if your anger seems out of control, causes you to do things you regret or hurts those around you.

WTO Final Selection: EU members Back Nigerian for Top Job at WTO

The selection of who becomes the next Director General of the World Trade Organization is in the final stages. The final stages require a lot of supportsDr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was Nigeria's first woman to hold the finance portfolio and also has a long career as a development economist at the World Bank.

Most EU capitals back former Nigerian finance minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to lead the World Trade Organisation, sources said on Monday, but she has yet to receive unanimous backing.

The EU had already decided to back either Okonjo-Iweala or South Korea's trade minister Yoo Myung-hee, and officials from the member states met on Monday to seek a consensus. Most of the 27 governments backed Okonjo-Iweala, around ten preferred Yoo but agreed to follow the majority view and only two remained opposed, a European source told AFP. European backing would be a considerable boost for the candidacy of the Nigerian economist, who already said she felt "the wind at my back" when she was backed by the African Union -AFP

The final stages is left with Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and KOREAN Myung-Hee. When successful, she would be the WTO's first African leader. But it was not clear if Brussels will be able to send an unanimous signal of support before the end of consultations on Tuesday. The appointment will be announced in early November.

The envoy's meeting was to resume at 1700 GMT to see if the two hold outs, which AFP understands to be Hungary and one of the three Baltic states, will come on board with the choice.

Series of supports from far and near is narrowing the Director Generalship of WTO to Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala with her intimidating profiles. Her exposures and experiences will be an asset to revitalise WTO as a reformer.

#EndSARS: NBC Gets 48-hour Ultimatum to Withdraw fFnes Slammed on Arise, AIT, Channels

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) and agitated Nigerians have condemned the fines imposed on Channels TV, AIT and Arise TV. The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) on Monday said the stations broadcasted online photos and videos of the End SARS protests.

The government suggested that their actions fuelled violence across Nigeria. Acting NBC Director-General, Armstrong Idachaba, at a press conference in Abuja accused the outfits of “unprofessional coverage” of the protests.
SERAP in a statement by its Deputy Director Kolawole Oluwadare said the action is yet another example of Nigerian authorities’ push to silence independent media and voices.

“NBC should drop the fines and uphold the Nigerian constitution and international obligations to respect and protect freedom of expression and media freedom. We will sue the NBC if the unconstitutional fines are not rescinded within 48 hours. He continued ''This is a new low in Nigeria’s protection of freedom of expression, and the ability of independent media to function in the country. The fines are detrimental to media freedom, and access to information and the NBC must immediately withdraw the decision.

Also, Nigerians on different Social Media platforms are calling for the immediate rescindment of the obnoxious fines to avoid further agitations.  The #EndSARS protest that attracted International attentions has not completely come to an end. This is not the best way to appraise  the unpleasant events that engulfed Nigeria in the last two weeks. What the government needs to do now is to unravel the people behind the #lekkimassacre and to look into the demands of the #EndSARS protest and other issues holistically and show willingness to address them headlong instead of unnecessary distractions like this.

#Lekkimassacre: NBC Sanctions Arise News, AIT, Channels TV Over #EndSARS Coverage

The National Brocasting Commission (NBC)has sanctioned some major broadcast stations for their coverage of the #EndSARS protests. The sanctioned stations are Arise News, African Independent Television (AIT) and Channels Television. NBC suggested that the media houses played a part in the escalation of violence across Nigeria.

The media houses have been fined around N3 million each. They were also accused of using unverified social media photos and videos of the protests and unrest. NBC expressed concern over their alleged “professional misdemeanour”.

The broadcast media monitor noted that the media, especially the broadcast arm, discharged its role professionally in confronting the challenge of COVID-19 crisis, it lamented that the same cannot be said of the coverage of the recent End SARS campaign”.

“This trend became completely reversed when violence, wanton destruction and looting were added to the dimensions. Perhaps in the eagerness to break news and be pace setters stations engaged in the very unprofessional attitude of speculative and unverifiable broadcast.”

NBC said they violated provisions of broadcasting codes 5.6.1, 2 and 3. It reads: “In contemporary times, the impact of modern technology has significantly enabled citizen’s contribution to journalism, which are beneficial to broadcasting. In this genre of citizens reportage, deploys such facilities as User Generated Content (UGC), providing instantaneous eye-witness Account of events. Such technological benefits place further demand on the broadcaster to be more cautious of its editorial responsibility.”

The statement also cited code 5.6.2: “News materials sent in by public must be vetted by a broadcaster who has editorial responsibility; and 5.6.3: The broadcaster shall be mindful of materials that may embarrass individuals or organisations or cause disaffection, incite to panic or rift in the society, in the usage of UGC.”

NBC said the three stations, “AIT especially continued to transmit footages obtained from unverified and unauthenticated social media sources. No doubt these pictures stimulated anger and heightened the violence that was witnessed during the crisis.

“We believe that the whole country has now seen why the spurious and recklessness on social media must not be patronised by the mainstream traditional media. Broadcasters who therefore dogmatically patronise the social media must bury their heads in shame.

“The commission wishes to seize this opportunity to condemn in total terms the assault and intimidation of media houses. The burning of TVC Lagos, The brief closure of Channels TV Lagos are all worrisome indicators of mob treat to the freedom of the press. No nation can grow when the citizens muzzle and intimidate its press.”

NBC advised broadcasters to always ensure that when they use UGC and social media sources, they must ensure their veracity and authenticity.

Should this be the first thing to be addressed by any agency of Nigerian Government? What's your take on this?

#EndSARSProtestNow: Falana, Agbakoba, Kukah And 38 Other Prominent Nigerians Recommended 6 Ways To Solve Nigerian Youths Crisis

EndSARS: It’s Time to Calm Down, Stop Looting – Prince Odimayo

We are responsible and patriotic Nigerians who have watched with serious concern the unfolding crisis threatening to engulf our nation. This has followed the recent protests by Nigerian youth across the country, against widespread police brutality, endemic corruption, and bad governance. We are non-partisan actors who believe in the union of our people through the maintenance of democratic order founded on the rule of law.

We believe in the freedom of all Nigerians to exercise the rights guaranteed in our constitution, including freedom of speech, the right to participate in peaceful protest and in processions without harassment or intimidation from any person or authority.

The developments of the last weeks culminated in a deadly attack on peaceful protestors, which from available evidence appears to be by agents of our government on 20th October 2020 present one of the most serious crisis in our nations history. At the root of these protests by our youth is bad governance and lack of accountability. Currently, 65% of Nigerians are young persons under 35 years of age. Majority do not feel that Nigeria works for them or supports their interests or aspirations.

They have been victims of police brutality and extortion all their lives and collectively decided the situation was no longer acceptable. It was on that basis that they began the EndSARS protests to end police brutality and ultimately to defend their basic rights, including the fundamental right to life. From all accounts, their protests were peaceful, and disciplined. They were focused on defending the rule of law and good governance, on many occasions symbolically raising the national flag or singing the national anthem.

The response of the Government to these protests has been largely slow, unconvincing, and half-hearted. By formally accepting the youth’s demand to end SARS but immediately announcing it would be replaced with SWAT, that did not demonstrate good faith. This has happened several times previously when our youth had protested police brutality and extortion. With no credible response and with no basis for trust in the willingness of their government to address their real grievances, they continued their protests.

There are widespread allegations and some available evidence would appear to support this, that agents of government or other affiliated political actors sought to break the legitimate protests by the youth through sponsoring or promoting thugs to attack the protestors and damage properties which were then attributed to the youth protestors.

Some evidence also suggests that there are attempts to delegitimise the protests by seeking to divide and rule the youth through ethnic and religious manipulation. This makes the situation very dangerous for the country. This divisive and cynical approach, if established, portends great danger to the nation and is unacceptable.

A cynical and brutal response, to the protests by the government or its agencies will only succeed in taking the agency of these protests from the hands of concerned, peaceful, orderly protesters for the rule of law and delivering our streets to the hoodlums and arsonists as is currently unfolding.

With over one hundred million people living in extreme poverty, Nigeria cannot afford to tread the path of exacerbating ethnic and religious divides which can only lead to anarchy. Any response from the government agencies or indeed any group, that suggests this, must be condemned strongly.

On Tuesday 20th October 2020, the nation was rudely shocked by what appears to be a premeditated violent crackdown on the protestors thereby significantly escalating the volatile situation. Earlier on that day, the Lagos State Government had declared a 24-hour curfew which would take effect from 4pm.

According to reports, as the deadline was not practical, the state government extended the time for compliance to 9pm. However, before the reviewed curfew time, armed men in the uniform of the Nigerian military were deployed to the protest site at Lekki toll gate in Lagos.

Available evidence suggests that they did not order the crowd to disperse and they did not engage in non-lethal crowd dispersal action, but rather opened live ammunitions on the defenseless assembled youth, some of whom were reportedly killed or wounded. This attack on unarmed protesters holding the nation’s flag and singing the national anthem will go down in infamy and will be engraved in the minds of Nigerians as one of the worst abuses of its own citizenship.

No Nation can survive a war between its security agencies and its youth, and it is to avert this prospect that we make this intervention and recommend the following urgent action.

Having carefully observed and followed these unfolding events, and to halt our descent into further break down of law and order, we call for urgent steps to be taken by all concerned.

We call on President Muhammadu Buhari to take immediate urgent steps to address the widening trust deficit between the Government and the President on the one hand, and the Nigerian youth and its people on the other. To move forward, the President must take decisive action to close the trust deficit by:

a.     Identifying and arresting immediately the persons that gave instruction for soldiers to shoot protesting youth at the Lekki

Toll Gate on 20th October 2020

b.     Institute an urgent independent inquiry on: (i) the events at Lekki toll gate leading to the use of live ammunitions on the protestors and (ii) the apparent use of sponsored thugs or hoodlums by security operatives to infiltrate and break the peaceful protests. All those identified to be responsible for this must be held to account and prosecuted.

c.     Take immediate remedial action as spelt out in the youth Charter of Demands (which they term 5For5 Demands) including the immediate release of all arrested protestors, justice and compensation for the families of victims, and an independent body to oversee the prosecution of guilty officers.

d.     Address the Nation with concrete plan of implementation of the modalities and timelines for police reform.

e.     Respond positively to the consensus opinion that the heads of the security agencies have performed poorly and should be relieved of office.

f.     Announce urgent steps to address perennial insecurity and killings in the country particularly in the North-East and North-West.

g.     Finally, develop a clear workplan for the implementation of the governance reform programmes for which well meaning Nigerians have been demanding.

We commend our youth who have been courageous and patriotic in their demands for the protection of their rights and for a better Nigeria. We urge that all Nigerians support these demands which have been without any ethnic or religious coloration. We urge the protestors to remain law abiding and patriotic and not to engage in any intimidation or harassment of ordinary citizens or engage in any form of violence. We appeal to parties and stakeholders to work for speedy resolution of the crisis.

We strongly condemn the wanton destruction of properties, killings and maiming of innocent citizens and ethnicization by rioters and hoodlums trying to ignite a religious or ethnic conflict and call on ALL Nigerians to remain calm and avoid retaliation or taking the law into their hands.
